Georgetown:
Maronee Fleming Janes Wroe, 82, died Wednesday, September 28, 2011, at Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet.
Mrs. Wroe was born in Fairmont, W. Va. on January 22, 1929, a daughter of the late David P. and Evalena Ford Fleming. She was a graduate of Fairmont State College and West Virginia University. Mrs. Wroe furthered her education in Visual Impairment at Vanderbilt University. She also completed a four year program in Education for Ministry. Mrs. Wroe was a member of Gamma Chi Chi Sorority. Mrs. Wroe taught briefly in the Marion County (West Virginia) public schools and retired from the Georgetown County School District.
Mrs. Wroe was a former member of Christ Episcopal Church in Fairmont W. Va. and Past President of the Episcopal Church Women. She was a board member of Marion County, W. Va. Girl Scouts of America. In Fairmont, Mrs. Wroe was a Past President of the Junior League and the W. Va. Women's Medical Auxiliary.
Mrs. Wroe was a communicant of Holy Cross Faith Memorial Episcopal Church in Pawleys Island and a former member of Prince George, Winyah, Episcopal Church in Georgetown. She was a member of the Winyah Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, West Virginia University Grand Strand Alumni Chapter, and Past President of the Georgetown County Council for Exceptional Children.
Mrs. Wroe loved her family, friends, traveling, theatre, family history, good literature, chocolate and wine. She also loved sports, especially those of West Virginia University.
Mrs. Wroe was predeceased by her parents and her first husband, Dr. Robert G. Janes.
Surviving are: her husband, James A. Wroe of Georgetown; four sons, David Robert Janes (Nathy) of Fairmont, W. Va., Robert Glenn Janes, Jr. (Christy) of Pawleys Island, Thomas Fleming Janes (Gene') of Walkersville, Md., and James M. Wroe (Debbie) of Orlando, Fla.; five daughters, Pamela Janes Snyder (Bill) of Pawleys Island, Anne Elizabeth Janes of Garden City, Amy Wroe Hand (Corey) of Huntington Beach, Calif., Elizabeth Wroe of Columbus, Oh., and Sandy Wroe of Grapevine, Tex.; fourteen grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be ten o'clock Monday morning, October 3, 2011, at Holy Cross Faith Memorial Episcopal Church. Officiating will be the Rev. C. Alex Barron. Another memorial services will be one o'clock Sunday afternoon, October 9, 2011 at Christ Episcopal Church in Fairmont, W. Va. followed by inurnment in the church columbarium.

The family will receive friends at Holy Cross Faith Memorial Episcopal Church prior to the service on Monday from nine until ten.
