Georgetown:
Martha Ann Brunson Harper, 87, widow of Keith McQueen Harper, died Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.
Mrs. Harper was born in Denmark on January 27, 1926, a daughter of the late Joseph Eugene Brunson and Swannanoa Hughes Brunson. She grew up in Denmark and graduated from Denmark public schools. After graduating from Winthrop College, Mrs. Harper taught elementary education in Georgetown and Andrews for 37 years. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 6444, and a communicant of Prince George, Winyah, Episcopal Church, where she was active in the Altar Guild and Women of the Church.
Surviving are: a daughter, Susan H. Hearon of Florence; two granddaughters, Emily Hearon Scurry (Kevin) of Atlanta, Ga. and Margaret Harper Hearon of Greenville; a great-grandson, James Griffin Scurry; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Harper was predeceased by a brother, Lenwood Eugene Brunson.
Funeral services will be held at one-thirty on Thursday afternoon, September 12, 2013, at Prince George, Winyah, Episcopal Church. Officiating will be The Very Rev. Paul C. Fuener and The Rev. A. Kenneth Weldon. Burial will follow in the Churchyard. A reception will immediately follow the funeral service in the Church Parish Hall.
