Andrews: Martha Virginia Parnell Morris, 93, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2016, at her residence. Mrs. Morris was born December 25, 1922, a daughter of the late Hoyt H. Parnell and Leola Coward Parnell. Mrs. Morris was born in Hemingway and graduated from Hemingway High School. She lived most of her life in the Bloomingvale community of Williamsburg County. Mrs. Morris worked as a dental assistant until retirement. She was a very dedicated member of the community and Bloomingvale Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher for many years. Mrs. Morris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grand mother, great-great grandmother and friend. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Morris is predeceased by her husband, Billy L. Morris, Sr. and her siblings. Surviving are: a son, Billy L. Morris, Jr. (Faye) of Effingham, SC; three daughters, Emily Collins of Florence, Anne M. Thompson (Ray) of Pawleys Island; and Joyce Ihrie (George) of Florence, and a number of grands, great-grands and great-great grands. Funeral Services will be eleven o'clock Thursday, October 6, 2016 at the Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Andrews Memorial Cemetery.
