It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Martha Annie Bullock Yarborough, age 83, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, on September 1, 2026. She passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her children.

Martha was born on April 23, 1943, in Gainesville, Florida, to the late Franklin Lennon Bullock Sr. and Maoma Sasser Bullock. She grew up in Georgetown, South Carolina, and graduated from Winyah High School with the Class of 1960. A proud Winyah "Gator," she knew from an early age that she wanted to become a nurse.

She earned her nursing degree from the Medical College of South Carolina School of Nursing in 1963 and became a Registered Nurse. She was also a proud MUSC Golden Girl. Early in her career, Martha found her passion for critical care as an ICU nurse at Divine Providence Hospital in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. She later returned to Georgetown, where she continued her career and education, earning both her CCRN certification and Master of Science in Nursing. Martha served as Director of Nursing at Georgetown Hospital in the late 1980s before returning to critical care at MUSC in Charleston, South Carolina. After a distinguished 40-year career dedicated to caring for others, Martha retired in 2000 while serving the State of South Carolina as a home health nurse. Throughout her career, she touched countless lives with her skill, compassion, and unwavering dedication to her patients.

Besides her love of nursing, Martha enjoyed music, reading, gardening, sewing projects, fishing, and camping trips to the beach with her husband, Dan. Most of all, she enjoyed time with her family and the many beloved dogs that shared her life over the years.

Martha loved sharing stories of the childhood shenanigans she enjoyed with her sister, Mary, and her brother, Lenny. She treasured memories of gatherings with the Bullock family, her children, nieces, nephews, and their families. She especially cherished her grandchildren and took great joy in being an active part of their lives. One of Martha's greatest blessings was meeting her great-granddaughter shortly before her passing.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Scots Yarborough, and her brother, Franklin "Frog" Lennon Bullock Jr.

She is survived by her three children: Christia Larson Keim (Andrew) of Collegeville, Pennsylvania; Laura Elizabeth "Beth" Larson of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; and SSG (Ret.) Larson, Herbert A. USA Iraq(03) Iraq(08) Afg(10) (Deborah) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She is also survived by her grandsons, Dustin A. Keim of South Lake Tahoe, California, and Jacob E. Keim (Cristina) of Broomall, Pennsylvania; her great-granddaughter, Sienna D. Keim; her beloved sister, Mary Bullock of Hemingway, South Carolina; and many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

The family will greet friends from 10:00 – 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 9 in the Maryville Chapel of Mayer-Ethridge Funeral Home, 2200 S. Fraser St., Georgetown. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM in the chapel, with burial in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. During the service, Martha’s years of dedication will be recognized by a Nurse’s Honor Guard and Nightingale Tribute Service, rendered by the Nurse’s Honor Guard of SC.
