Mary Alice Towell Scott, 94, widow of Leopold Eden Scott, Jr., died Sunday, July 16, 2017, at Blue Ridge in Georgetown.
Mrs. Scott was born in Syracuse, NY, on November 29, 1922, a daughter of the late Charles Towell and Marie McCarthey Towell. She graduated from Nottingham High School in Syracuse and State University of New York at Plattsburgh, NY, where she received a degree in Home Economics. Mrs. Scott was a former Cub Scout and Girl Scout Leader and former high school Home Economics teacher. She was a member of St. Mary Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church. Mrs. Scott was a wonderful homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother.
Surviving are: three sons, Eden Scott, III (Terry) of Auburn, Ala., Mark Scott (Toni) of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Paul Scott (Pam) of Dunwoody, Ga.; a daughter, Susan S. Church (Ron) of Georgetown; ten grandchildren, Gale, Maggie, Matthew, Miriam, Laura, Eric, Heather, Brandon, Maddie, and Jay; fourteen great-grandchildren, and a sister, Nancy Towell Cotter of San Bernadino, Calif.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday morning, July 29, 2017, at eleven o'clock at St. Mary Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Richard Wilson.
