Mary Cordes Lucas Easley died on May 31, 2012 at The Lakes at Litchfield.
Mrs. Easley was born in Georgetown on November 24, 1930, the daughter of Thomas Cordes Lucas and Alice Vaughan Lucas of Georgetown and widow of Joseph Hyde Easley, Jr. She was a graduate of Winyah High School and Winthrop College and a communicant of Prince George, Winyah, Episcopal Church, its St. Anne's Guild and Altar Guild, Georgetown Garden Club, South Carolina State Garden Club, Huguenot Society, Society of Colonial Dames, Daughters of the American Revolution, Historic Rice Fields Association, the Preservation Committee of St. James Santee Episcopal Church and was a Tidelands Hospice volunteer.
Surviving are: a son, Joseph Hyde Easley, III of Summerville; two daughters, Mary Easley Holland of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Harriet Easley Walker of Townsend, Georgia; a sister, Catherine Lucas Bull of Georgetown; 7 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be on Monday, June 4, 2012 at 11:00 in Prince George, Winyah Episcopal Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Paul C. Fuener and the Right Reverend C. Fitzsimons Allison. Interment will follow in the churchyard.
A reception will be held in the Parish Hall immediately following the committal Service.
