Mary Frances Yarborough Cagle, 0n May 9th, Mary Frances passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family and faithful caregivers. She was predeceased by her husband, the late Charles Wilmer Cagle. (Bunk)
Mary Frances was born in the town of Bethune in Kershaw County, S.C. on September 28,1928. She was the second child and first daughter of Mamie and Edwin McKinnon Yarborough.
Mary Frances spent her childhood in Bethune, until she left for school as a young adult. She attended both Winthrop and Lander Colleges. While working in Georgetown, during her break, she met her beloved Charles. Once married, Mary Frances and Charles located in Andrews, where she has lived for over 75 years. In addition to being a wife, mother, and homemaker, Mary Frances worked as an office administrator at The Georgetown International Paper Company for over 40 years. She enjoyed working in her yard and spending time manicuring her prize- winning roses. She always had time for visiting friends, family, and attending church events. She was an exceptional cook and famous for her pound cakes which she always managed to have on hand and insisted you have a piece. Mary Frances spent many hours in the kitchen putting up vegetables each season and always had plenty to share.
Mary Frances was one of the oldest living members of First Baptist Church joining in 1954; therefore, she has been a member for 68 years. Mary Frances was continually active in her church and involved in many projects. She was a member of the Ed Hinson Sunday School where she served as treasurer since 2005. Mary Frances was on numerous committees such as the Decorating and Bereavement Committees. She loved to socialize with The Red Hat Society. Mary Frances was one of the members at the helm of the reconstruction of the Church Social Hall and Parlor. She was very attentive to her church and its members.
Mary Frances is survived by her daughter Mary Alice Cagle of Lake City and her two cherished granddaughters- Katie Dorrell (Wesley) and Ashley Lee (Sulli) both of Lake City. She has numerous well-loved nieces and nephews whom, she kept in touch with. The family expresses love and appreciation to her care-givers Ella and Jerome Johnson, Roberta Jones, Victoria Scott, Peggy Ware, Dr. Troy B. Gamble Jr, Judy Hill RN and Amedisys staff for their exceptional care.
Funeral services to honor the life of Mary Frances will be two o'clock on Wednesday May 11, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Andrews conducted by The Reverend Mark Stump.
Visitation will be prior to the funeral service from one until two o'clock in the church parlor. Burial will follow at the Andrews Memorial Garden. The family will be at the home.
