Mary Frances Fraser, 87, of Pawleys Island, South Carolina, died peacefully at her home on July 6, 2026.
Born on January 22, 1939, in Greenville, South Carolina, she was the daughter of William Townes Fraser and Virginia Hellams Fraser.
Mary Frances devoted her life to caring for others. In her younger years, she worked as a nurse, a profession that reflected her compassionate and giving heart. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose greatest joy came from her family. Mary Frances was deeply involved in her church, faithfully serving in many ministries over the years. She found peace and happiness walking the beaches of Pawleys Island with her beloved dogs, Lola and Willie. Her gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and love for others touched everyone who knew her.
She especially cherished her eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, celebrating each of their lives with pride and unconditional love. She was also eagerly awaiting the arrival of another great-grandchild, expected in the coming weeks.
Mary Frances is survived by her son, William Drew and his wife, Ana Drew, of Miami, Florida; her daughter, Ann Lamba and her husband, Jens Lamba, of Tega Cay, South Carolina; her sister, Ann Blake of Pawleys Island, South Carolina; her grandchildren, Jessica, Emily, Rachel, Drew, Townes, Palmer, McCall, and Elizabeth Scott; her great-grandchildren, Sean, Penelope, Aiden, Mila, Cameron, Charlie Ann, and Ella; her beloved dogs, Lola and Willie; and many extended family members and dear friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Fraser Drew.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who cared for Mary Frances with kindness and compassion throughout her final years. They are especially thankful for Joe Daniels, whose unwavering friendship, faithful support, and loving care brought comfort, companionship, and joy to Mary Frances’ life. His devotion and presence were a true blessing to both Mary Frances and her family, and they will always be deeply grateful for the love and kindness he showed her.
A funeral service celebrating Mary Frances’ life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at All Saints Church in Pawleys Island, South Carolina, 3560 Kings River Road, Pawleys Island, SC 29585.
