Mary Sue Ginn Woodward of Georgetown, SC, passed away on March 11, 2018.
Mary Sue, the daughter of the late Otto and Nita Pope, was born in Georgetown on October 13, 1928, she was a young 89 years of age.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her sisters, Eileen Pope and Ivy Brown; brothers, Charlie Pope, and Willis Pope; husbands, Charles "Charlie" Tabor Ginn and James Woodward. She is survived by: her daughters, Cynthia Kennedy (David) and Betty Carol Smith (Pete McLain); a grandson, Jamie Eubanks (Ashley); a granddaughter, Christy Loyer (Tim); step grandsons, Joe and Jordan Kennedy; two great-grandchildren; her sister, Jeanette Mahaffey; a brother, Rev. Luford Pope (Mary); and many nephews and nieces. Her devoted nephew and his wife, Duane and Tinzel Pope, will truly miss their "Aunt Mary Sue". Her dearest friends and neighbors, Betty and Calvin Foxwell, will deeply miss their "Miss Mary".
"Miss Mary" as she was fondly called was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Georgetown. Miss Mary's energy and spirit created a bright spot in many people's lives. She was known as the "sunshine girl". She loved her church family and they loved her.
Visitation will be held at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, March 13, 2018.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am at Good Hope Cemetery in Hemingway, on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, with the Rev. Dr. Ted Sherrill officiating.
