Pawleys Island: Mary Kennedy Jay Holman, 65, wife of George Douglas Holman, Jr., passed away Saturday, November 2, 2019, at her residence. Mrs. Holman was born in Greenwood on June 21, 1954, a daughter of the late Robert Royal Jay and Catherine Eliza Crosby Jay. She grew up in Greenwood and graduated from Greenwood High School in 1972. Mrs. Holman received a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of South Carolina in 1976. She taught for a while in the Lexington County School District. Mrs. Holman was a realtor for the James W. Smith Real Estate Company in Pawleys Island. She was an Elder and member of Pawleys Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Holman was predeceased by: a brother, Crosby Jay. Surviving are: her husband Doug of Pawleys Island, a son Bates Holman (Stephanie) of Goose Creek, three grandchildren, Lyla, Henry and Winifred Holman, and a brother, Bob Jay (Missy) of Lake City. Graveside services will be Thursday, November 7, 2019, in the Pawleys Island Presbyterian Churchyard at one o'clock PM. The family will receive friends following the service on Thursday in the Frank Holsclaw Fellowship Center.
