Georgetown:
Mary Agnes Cathou King, 89, widow of Francis Wilkinson King, died Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at her residence.
Mrs. King was born in Georgetown on July 5, 1922, a daughter of the late René Yve Cathou and Mary LaFitte Patterson Cathou. She was a graduate of Winyah High School in Georgetown and St. Francis School of Nursing in Charleston. Mrs. King served in the Army Nurse Corps during World War II. She was a retired Registered Nurse and worked as a private duty nurse, school nurse, and as a nurse at Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Mrs. King was a member of St. Mary Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church and served her church as a member of the Altar Society. She was also a former volunteer for the American Red Cross.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. King was predeceased by: two brothers, René Yve Cathou, Jr. and Joseph Patterson Cathou; and a sister, Louisa Cathou Plowden.
Surviving are: three sons, Francis Wilkinson King, Jr. and René Cathou King, both of Georgetown, and James Meggett King (Debbie) of Charleston; a daughter, Mary Patterson King of Lexington; three grandchildren, Heather K. Dapolite (Chris) of Cary, N. C., and Anna M. King and Ryan L. King, both of Charleston; a great-granddaughter, Mary Olivia Dapolite of Cary, N. C.; and a daughter-in-law, Fran K. King of Columbia.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be eleven o'clock Friday morning, February 10, 2012, at St. Mary Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Ronald J. Farrell. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home Thursday evening, February 9, 2012, from five until seven.
