Andrews:
Mary Bryan Boyd Smith died Thursday, December 29, 2011, at Tidelands Community Hospice House in Georgetown.
Mrs. Smith was born on November 24, 1911 at her home in White Oak, N.C. to William Sanders Bryan and Gertie Lee Haire Bryan. She celebrated her 100th birthday this year.
Mrs. Smith married the late John Weldon Boyd on December 23, 1926 and the late Richard Leon Smith on December 23, 1961. She retired from the Williamsburg County School System and was a member of Spring Gulley Baptist Church, where she served as a mission leader, Sunday school teacher and pianist. Mrs. Smith was always ready to serve the Lord whenever she was needed.
Surviving are: two sons, John Weldon Boyd, Jr. (Hattie Mae) and Charles Edwin Boyd (Vernon); a step-daughter, Genelle Smith Abrams; a brother, Danny Bryan; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at three o'clock Saturday afternoon, December 31, 2011, at Spring Gulley Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Randy Zurcher, the Rev. Craig Pipkin, and the Rev. Talmidge Infinger. Burial will follow in Spring Gulley Baptist Churchyard.
