IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Frances
Sowell
June 17, 1942 – February 27, 2024
Andrews ~
Mary Frances Sowell, 81, was reunited in heaven with the love of her life, Henry Berry Sowell, on February 27, 2024. She passed peacefully at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Sowell was born in Kingstree on June 17, 1942, a daughter of Harold Thomas Bath and Gladys Delean Blakely Bath. Mary Frances grew up in Andrews and graduated from Andrews High School. Not long after, she met her one true love at BC Moore.
She was a member of Trinity Global Methodist Church, where she loved attending Sunday School and hearing the choir sing. Her place of solace was Lakewood Campground, where she would sit on the porch and enjoy a good book and the summer sun. Though she was Mary Frances to many, her favorite little people called her "Nanny." She adored her time with her family and grandchildren; but especially those great grands, as no love compared to her love for them. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Sowell is predeceased by: her brothers, Habby Bath and Mark Bath, sister-in-law, Beverly Bennotti, brother-in-law, Peter Bennotti, and a nephew, Tommy Bath.
Surviving are: a daughter, Jan Sowell Rimmer (Dugger) of Georgetown; three grandchildren, Ashleigh Love of Florence; Reed Rimmer (Haleigh) of Georgetown; and Blake Rimmer of Georgetown; six great-grand children, Hayden, Kellan, Max, Liam Love, Doc and Cooper Rimmer; a brother, Dan Bath (Cuqui), one sister, Gloria Westbrook (Frank), and Felitcha Pinckney, a bonus daughter, and a number of nieces & nephews she loved dearly.
Visitation will be at eleven o' clock Friday, March 1, 2024, and funeral services will follow at twelve o' clock at Trinity Global Methodist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Ben Gafford and Rev. Marty Cox. Burial will follow in Andrews Memorial Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to Trinity Global Methodist Church, 205 S. Rosemary Ave., Andrews, SC 29510.
The Andrews Chapel of Mayer-Ethridge Funeral Home and Crematory is handling arrangements for the Sowell family.
