Pawley's Island: Mary Carolyn McGimpsey Waddell, 93, died Thursday, May 19, 2005 at Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet. Mrs. Waddell was born January 24, 1912, a daughter of the late R. L. "Dick" McGimpsey and Myrtle Silar McGimpsey. She retired in 1976 as Supervisor of the Circulation Accounting Dept. of the Knoxville News-Sentinel in Knoxville, Tenn. She moved to St. Petersburg, Fla. in 1982 prior to moving to Pawley's Island. Mrs. Waddell was predeceased by: her husband, R. W. Waddell; and a sister, Lenoir M. Feldpausch. Surviving are: a son Rusty Waddell and his wife Grace of Pawley's Island; and a sister, Mildred Wigington and her husband Gene of Gainesville, Fla.
