Georgetown:
Matthew Gerald DuMont, 42, died Thursday, August 9, 2007, at his residence.
Mr. DuMont was born in Malone, N.Y., on April 10, 1965, a son of Clare Boyd DuMont and David Augustus DuMont. He lived and attended schools in Potsdam, N.Y., Columbia, and Charleston, before moving to Pawleys Island in 1986. Mr. DuMont was a carpenter in the home remodeling and renovation business for a number of years and was a friend to many.
Surviving in addition to his parents of Pawleys Island are: his wife, Holly Fletcher DuMont of Georgetown; two sons, Josh and Jeremy DuMont of Aiken; two step-daughters, Kasey Lambert and Stephanie Morris both of Georgetown; four brothers, Michael DuMont and his wife Sharon, Boyd DuMont and his wife Suzanne and Gregory DuMont and his companion Tracy Norris, all of Pawleys Island, and Stephen DuMont and his wife Jamie of Mt. Pleasant; one sister, Jennifer Pankau and her husband David of Columbia; and eighteen nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be eleven o'clock, Saturday morning, August 11, 2007, at the Precious Blood of Christ Catholic Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Patrick J. Stenson.
