Georgetown: Maurice "Mike" Roger Overbey, 83, husband of Eva Mae Bone Overbey, died Wednesday afternoon, February 20, 2019, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Mr. Overbey was born May 10, 1935, in Kansas City, MO. a son of the late Tom Overbey and Margaret Odum Overbey. He grew up in Kansas City, graduated from the Kansas City public schools, and joined the United State Army. Mike and Eva Mae were married, June 14, 1969, for almost fifty years. He was owner operator of Sampit Business Services, where he was a bookkeeper and tax accountant. Mike and Eva Mae also ran a small video store in the Sampit community. Mr. Overbey was a member of Sampit United Methodist Church, and was a very dedicated servant of our Our Lord and Savior. Mike was a very caring person, wonderful companion, and caretaker to the love of his life. Mr. Overbey was an avid reader who loved movies and music. He quoted so often "meeting Eva Mae saved my life". Mr. Overbey is survived by his wife of Georgetown; a step-son, Ricky L. Bone of Georgetown; and one niece, Sharon Meyers Tuttle. Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
