Georgetown:
Michael Robert Sorokach, 90, widow of Carol Jean Carter Sorokach, died Monday, November 30, 2020, at his daughter's residence in Mt. Pleasant.
Mr. Sorokack was born August 29, 1930 in Trafford, PA, a son of the late Michael Joseph Sorokach and Elizabeth Gelatio Sorokach.
Mr. Sorokach grew up in Trafford, PA and graduated from Trafford High School. He received his Bachelor's degree in forestry from Penn State University. Mr. Sorokach moved to Georgetown and worked for International Paper and where he met his wife Carol. He worked for Oneita Knitting Mills as Vice President of the Fabric Division until retirement and was loved by all who worked with him. Mr. Sorokach was a parishioner of Saint Mary's Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church. He and Carol were very devoted to their church. Mike loved to surf fish on the north end of Pawleys Island, he loved playing golf, but his most favorite hobby was his yard where he spent many hours cutting grass. Mr. Sorokach was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will surely be missed.
Surviving are: a daughter, Christi Miller of Mt. Pleasant; and two sons, Michael Sorokach of Jackson MS, and Paul Sorokach (Kelli) of Mt. Pleasant; and a grandson, Carter.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be eleven o'clock Saturday, December5, 2020, at Saint Mary's Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Michael Mukad
