Ware Shoals: Mildred "Jean" Blalock Crosby, 94, former resident of Pawleys Island, died Monday, March 19, 2007, at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood. Mrs. Crosby was born in Black Mountain, N. C. on April 26, 1912, a daughter of the late Bascomb W. Blalock and Lilla Buchanan Blalock. She was a member of Pawleys Island Community Church. Mrs. Crosby made her home in Ware Shoals with her niece, Nancy D. Kirby and her husband Wayne. Mrs. Crosby was predeceased by: her husband, Clifford Charles "Pat" Crosby; three sisters; and a brother. Surviving are: four nieces, Nancy Kirby of Ware Shoals, Barbara Hucks and Tommie Hughes both of Myrtle Beach, and Carolyn Parker of Oh.; and a nephew, Walter Griffin of Atlanta, Ga. Graveside services will be one o'clock, Wednesday afternoon, March 21, 2007, at Elmwood cemetery in Georgetown. Officiating will be the Rev. Don Williams.
