Miriam Lucille Thomas, 96, died peacefully Thursday, April 23, 2020, while with family in Michigan. Miriam was born April 2, 1924 in Georgetown to the late Clifford and Lucille Parsons. She was preceded in death by her husband William (Billy) H. Thomas, her daughter Barbara Lynn Roehrig, her brothers Florin, Delmaine, Norman, Lewis, and Ivan Parsons, and sister Velma Turner.
Mariam is survived by her brother William Parsons (Lucille) of Barnwell, South Carolina, sister Evelyn C. Weaver (Tom) of Ocala, Florida, and sister-in-law Sylvia Parsons of Georgetown. Miriam is also survived by her step-sons William, Robert, David and Stevie Thomas and their families as well as her grandchildren Pamela Griffin (Paul) and Michael Roehig (Michele), both of Michigan, and great-grandchildren Emily, Nicole, Brenna, Carsyn and Averie, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Miriam was employed as an accountant at Ford Motor Credit Company and after retirement she enjoyed spending time volunteering at Brookgreen Gardens. She was a member of the Belin United Methodist Church. Miriam was an avid traveler and was able to visit England, Russia, Sweden, Bermuda, Alaska along with many ski trips to Colorado and Utah. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Graveside Services will be eleven o'clock Thursday, April 30, 2020, in Elmwood Cemetery. The family and funeral home request we practice social distancing.
