Obituary

Pawley's Island: Molly Ethridge Port, 84, died Sunday, January 30, 2005, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Port was born in Andrews on November 15, 1920, a daughter of the late Sim and Ellen Ethridge. She grew up in Andrews and was a graduate of Andrews High School. Mrs. Port was a retired employee of Georgetown Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Screven Baptist Church and the Deborah Sunday School Class. Surviving are: four daughters, Joanne Young of Pawley's Island; Janie Hobgood and her husband Allan of Charleston, Sandra Strickland and her husband Jay of Pawley's Island, Charmaine Mattox and her husband Rick of St. Simons Island, Ga.; four sons, Frank Port and his wife Petra of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., Mike Port and his wife Cindy of Buffalo, Tex., David Port and his wife Andi of Port Arthur, Tex., Donnie Port and his wife Deloris of Riesel, Tex.; twenty grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren. Mrs. Port was preceded in death by: her husband, Joe Port, Sr.; a son, Joe Port, Jr., a son-in-law, Jack Young, Sr.; a grandchild, Kimberly Ellen Young; and two great-grandchildren, Bradley and Joseph. Funeral services will be ten o'clock Wednesday morning, February 2, 2005, at Screven Baptist Church in Georgetown. Officiating will be the Rev. R. Wayne Ellis.
