Andrews:
Myrtie Ruth Martin Harrelson, 79, widow of George W. Harrelson, died Sunday, February 14, 20016, at Tidelands Community Hospice House in Georgetown.
Mrs. Harrelson was born in Georgetown, a daughter of the late Lloyd Martin and Wilma Ward Martin. She grew up in Andrews and attended Andrews High School. Mrs. Harrelson was a member of New Hope Fellowship Church and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the church. She worked for Ozburn's Restaurant and Sam's Drive-in for many years. One of her joys was to ride with George on his trips from Florida to Canada.
Mrs. Harrelson was predeceased by: her husband, her parents, and a grandson, Edward Martin, a sister, Annie Mae Martin and two brothers, Stanley Martin and Daniel Martin.
She is survived by; three sons, Carl R. Smith (Pam) of Marietta and Kenny Smith (Debbie) and James Martin, both of Andrews; two sisters, Elizabeth Freeman (Clinton) and Beulah Marshall; four grandchildren, Kipp Smith, Heather Mitchell, Kayliegh Smith, and Kelly Martin; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be two o'clock Wednesday afternoon, February 17, 2016, at New Hope Fellowship. Officiating will be the Rev. J. W. Casselman. Burial will follow in Andrews Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church prior to service on Wednesday from one until two o'clock.
