Obituary

Andrews:

Myrtle Hendley Watford, 90, wife of Heyward J. Watford, passed away February 15, 2023, at her residence. She is now reunited in heaven with her son, Danny Hale.

Mrs. Watford was born in Bay Minette, AL, on January 15, 1933, a daughter of the late Bessie Norton Hendley.

Myrtle was a faithful member of Andrews First Baptist Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir, especially during the Christmas Cantata. While stationed in Saudi Arabia, Myrtle worked teaching children to speak English, and later retired from Civil Service for the Department of Defense at Robins Air Force Base. She was a homemaker who loved baking, sewing, crochet, tatting and ceramics. Her pride and joy was making homemade clothes for her grandchildren. Myrtle's beloved pet, Cowboy, AKA "Doodie Woodie" loved taking daily naps in her lap and she spoiled him immensely with special treats. She was a very special person who loved her sweet husband, children and those loving grands.

Mrs. Watford is survived by her husband of Andrews; her step-son, Gregory Lee Watford (Jana), and step-daughter, Susan Kutay (Tommy), three grandchildren, Andrew Kutay, Oliva Lee (Davonte),and Jake Watford; two beautiful great-grandchildren, Scarlett and Tiffany Lee, who lovingly referred to her as MeMe.
