IN LOVING MEMORY OF
N. Stone
Miller
June 4, 1943 – June 23, 2025
Nicholas Stone Miller, a lifelong southern gentleman, devoted father, and cherished friend, passed away June 23, 2025, at the age of 82.
Originally from Greenville, South Carolina, Stoney made Litchfield Beach his home for over 60 years. He was a graduate of Camden Military School and attended both The Citadel and Furman University. He later served in the U.S. Navy Reserves Submarine Service - an experience that shaped his lifelong sense of discipline and integrity.
Stoney built a distinguished career in real estate that spanned decades, earning the trust and admiration of colleagues and clients alike. His professional dedication was matched only by the joy he found in his personal passions: casting a line while fishing, friendly matches on the tennis court, rounds of golf with friends, and the social atmosphere of a dove field.
In 1969, he married the love of his life, Linda Still Miller. Their devoted marriage of 44 years was a source of enduring strength and happiness until her passing in April 2013.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, his parents Thomas Whitmire Miller and Doris Bane Miller, and his brother John Ingram Miller. He is survived by his daughters, Helen Miller Phillips and Eugenia Miller Marshall; his cherished grandsons, Henry Miller Marshall, Oliver Stone Marshall, and Sorren Stone Phillips; and his brother, Thomas Whitmire Miller Jr. He also leaves behind a wide circle of cousins, nieces and nephews, and dear friends who will remember his humor, warmth, and good nature.
Stoney will be remembered not only for his wit and storytelling, but also for his unwavering love for family, a deep respect for tradition, and a boundless sense of joy in life's simple pleasures.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Monday, June 30, 2025, at All Saints Church Churchyard, 3560 Kings River Road, Pawleys Island, SC, with a reception to follow at the ACTS Building.
