Pawleys Island:
Nannie Estelle Watkins Lattin, 90, widow of John James Lattin, died Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at her residence.
Mrs. Lattin was born in Bishopville on July 4, 1925, a daughter of the late George Washington Watkins and Nannie Estelle Baker Watkins. She grew up in Sumter and after moving to Washington, DC, she worked for the federal government in a munition's factory. There she met and married her husband of sixty-six years in 1945. The Lattin family moved to Pawleys Island in 1983 from Alexandria, VA. She was a member of Precious Blood of Christ Catholic Church. Mrs. Lattin loved sewing, making jewelry, and cake decorating.
Surviving are: two sons, John Lattin (Diane) of Pawleys Island and Les Lattin (Connie) of Gaithersburg, MD; a daughter, Janet Tyler (John) of Silver Spring, MD; a daughter-in-law, Susan Lattin of Rockville, MD; two sisters, Ella Mae Branham and Tootsie Coward (Mendal), both of Sumter; a sister-in-law, Tootsie Watkins of Pawleys Island; nine grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Lattin was predeceased by: a son, David Lattin; and three brothers, James Watkins, George Watkins, Jr. and Newt Watkins.
The Funeral Mass will be one o'clock Saturday afternoon, June 18, 2016, at Precious Blood of Christ Catholic Church. Officiating will be Deacon Stephen Olenchock.
