Nellie Byrd Cox Lawrimore, 79, widow of Chalmers P. Lawrimore, died Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at Tidelands Community Hospice House.
Mrs. Lawrimore was born in Conway on February 4, 1937, a daughter of the late Dillion Ansel Cox and Margueriete Cooper Cox. She grew up in Conway and graduated from Conway High School. Mrs. Lawrimore was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church and the Violet Long Sunday School Class. She serviced as the church secretary and organist for many years. Mrs. Lawrimore retired from the Georgetown County Department of Social Services. She and her husband Chalmers were married for forty years.
Surviving are: one son, Chalmers "Cham" P. Lawrimore, Jr. (Connie) of Georgetown; two daughters, Karen L. Michau (Elwood) of Andrews and Elizabeth "Betsy" Kotwis (Joe) of Canal Winchester, OH; eleven grandchildren, Chris, Angela, Bryan, Greg, Emma, William, Matthew, Kaylee, Jared, Julia, and Drew; eight great-grandchildren, Noah, Abigail, Brice, Kinnon, Chance, Avery, Emmit, and Lila; and three sisters, Anselee McClam, Sylvia Davis, and Drucilla Chavis.
Mrs. Lawrimore is predeceased by: her husband and her parents.
Funeral Services will be held at three o'clock on Saturday afternoon, January 28, 2017, at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Rev. Larry Deeter. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service.
