Andrews:
Nellie Floyd Ray, 90, died Monday, January 28, 2008 at her residence.
Mrs. Ray was born in Olanta on March 9, 1917, a daughter of the late Marshall William Floyd and Bertie McKenzie Floyd Watford. She worked for Oneita Knitting Mills for a time and was a member of Happy Home Original Free Will Baptist Church.
Mrs. Ray was predeceased by: her husband, Jessie James "Bubba" Ray, Jr.; a son, Gene Marshall Ray; five brothers, Berkley Floyd, Dexter Floyd, D.W. Floyd, Lucas Watford, and B.B. Watford; two sisters, Elise Cook and Juanita Floyd; and two great-grandchildren, Dillon Graham and Justin Gamble.
Surviving are: a son, Marion Ray of Nederland, Tex.; three daughters, Janelle Ray Gamble, Cynthia Ray Ard, and Teresa Ray McAlister, all of Andrews; an adopted daughter, Anne Howell of Andrews; a daughter-in-law, Glenda R. Ray of Andrews; four brothers, Earl Watford of Actworth, Ga., Edward Watford, Heyward Watford, and Robert (Bobby) Watford, all of Andrews; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be eleven o'clock, Thursday morning, January 31, 2008, at Happy Home Original Free Will Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Donald Duncan and the Rev. Thad Jacobs. Burial will follow in Ivey Cemetery.
