Pawleys Island: Nellie G. Richmond, 96, died Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Tidelands Community Hospice House in Georgetown. Mrs. Richmond was born in Philadelphia, Pa. on August 7, 1914, a daughter of the late Dominikas Guokas and Marianna Wisiackas Guokas. She spent most of her life in Philadelphia being a devoted wife, mother and daughter. In her later years, she lived in Fairfax, Va., and most recently at the Lakes at Litchfield. Mrs. Richmond was predeceased by her husband, Howard Richmond, Jr. She is survived by: her daughter, Doris Pioth (Clay) of Pawleys Island; her son, Bob Richmond (Chris) of Manassas, Va.; five grandchildren, Donald Gratz, Jr. (Joan) of Charles Town, W.V., Lesley Pelasara (Jeff) of Pawleys Island, Kimberly Fields of Warsaw, Va., Wendy Wright (Bill) of Fredericksburg, Va. and Douglas Richmond (Susan) of Woodbridge, Va.; and eight great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be at ten-thirty Saturday morning, November 6, 2010, at Prince George, Winyah, Episcopal Church. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium.
