Nola Springs Davis, 85, died Sunday, January 1, 2006, at Prince George Healthcare Center.
Mrs. Davis was born in Hemingway on January 15, 1920, a daughter of the late Joseph Benjamin Springs and Lilly Tanner Springs. She lived her young life in Hemingway, where she worked as a farmer. After moving to Jamestown in the 1950's, Mrs. Davis worked in the cafeteria of Macedonia School in Berkeley Co. until her retirement in 1980. She was a member of Jamestown Baptist Church.
Mrs. Davis was predeceased by: her husband, Willie Norwood Davis; a daughter, Dorothy L. Cooper; and a grand-daughter, Kim Hughes Altman.
Surviving are: a daughter, Patsy "Pat" Hughes of Andrews; two brothers, J. S. "Julius" Springs of Georgetown and A. J. "Joe" Springs of Hemingway; three sisters, Jessie M. Stone of Summerville, and Lilly V. Hartley and Mildred L. Guerry, both of Jamestown; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be two o'clock Wednesday afternoon, January 4, 2006, at the graveside in St. James United Methodist Cemetery in Jamestown. Officiating will be the Rev. J. Robert Huggins.
