Obituary

Georgetown: Norbert Lawrence Schneider, 86, died Thursday, March 4, 2004, at Heritage Home of Florence. Mr. Schneider was born in Pittsburgh, Pa. on December 24, 1917, a son of the late Nicholas Schneider and Ella Garrity Schneider. He grew up in Pittsburgh and served in the Army in Panama during World War II. Mr. Schneider also taught munitions at the United States Military Academy at West Point, N. Y. for a time. After retiring from Fisher Controls in Coraopolis, Pa., he moved to Garden City Beach in 1981. Mr. Schneider moved to Georgetown four years ago. He was a member of St. Cyprian's Catholic Church and an accomplished guitarist. Mr. Schneider was the widower of Marjorie Elaine Chipp Schneider. Surviving are: three daughters, Patricia S. Hess of Georgetown, Mary Jo Schneider of Lake City, and Amy S. Cunningham of Houston, Tex.; two sisters, Jeanne Pack and Betty Kovacs, both of Pittsburgh, Pa.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The Funeral Mass will be ten o'clock Tuesday morning, March 9, 2004, at St Mary Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church in Georgetown. Officiating will be the Rev. Ronald J. Farrell.
