Andrews:
Norman J. Rowell, 76, husband of Myra Cox Rowell, passed away Friday, April 26, 2019, in MUSC Medical Center in Charleston.
Mr. Rowell was born on May 8, 1942, in Trio, a son of the late Ervin Robert Rowell and Hallie Oree Boykin Rowell. Norman grew up in the Trio Community of Williamsburg County, graduated from Williamsburg High School, and attended Columbia Bible College. He was a member of Trio United Methodist Church and served as a Lay Leader for many years. Mr. Rowell served on the Williamsburg County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Board, coached Little League Baseball for over fifteen years. He was a retired as a Foreman from Insteel/Andrews Wire.
Norman and Myra were married on September 9, 1961, and were happily married for fifty seven years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and was very devoted to God, family and Clemson University.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Rowell was predeceased by: a brother, E. Robert Rowell, Jr.
Surviving are: his wife of Andrews; three sons, Norman J. Rowell, Jr. (Betsy) of Pawleys Island, Robert P. Rowell of Georgetown, William T. Rowell (Leslie) of Andrews; a daughter, M. Denise R. Jackson (Ronnie) of Andrews; eight grandchildren, Ashley, Austin (Tricia), Will, Abigail, and Calib Rowell, Hunter Morris, and Jude and Christopher Jackson; two brothers, Thomas B. Rowell and J. Victor Rowell (Pearl), both of Trio; and a sister, Roberta R. Benton of Georgetown.
Funeral Services will be three o'clock Monday afternoon, April 29, 2019, at Trinity United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Arthur Vick and the Rev. Eddie Knight. Burial will follow in Andrews Memorial Cemetery.
The Family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon, April 28, 2019, at the Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home from five until seven.
