North Augusta:
Norris McDonald "Donnie" Swett, 80, died Tuesday, December 8, 2015, in North Augusta.
Mr. Swett was born in Georgetown on December 5, 1935, a son of the late Walker Norris "Buck" Swett and Lena Belle "Tow" McDonald Swett. He grew up in Georgetown and was a graduate of Winyah High School and did his undergraduate work at Erskine College. Mr. Sweat earned three Masters Degrees from Appalachian State University and one from the University of Miami. Mr. Swett was a former teacher and assistant principle at Winyah High School in Georgetown and later became the principal at Deep Creek Elementary School in Georgetown Co.
After retirement from the school system, Mr. Swett became an ordained United Methodist Minister and served many small churches. He was also a founding member of the Winyah Auditorium Preservation Society and member of a United Methodist Church in North Augusta.
Surviving are: a brother, Robert Edward Swett of Tampa, Fla.; two nieces; and four nephews.
Private services were held in Elmwood Cemetery in Georgetown, where he was put to rest with his parents.
