Andrews:
Olin Godwin, 75, died Saturday, October 4, 2003 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Godwin was born in the Big Dam Community of Georgetown Co. near Andrews on September 27, 1928, a son of the late George Duffie Godwin and Ethel Cox Godwin. He was a loving father and grandfather. Mr. Godwin retired in 1985 after thirty-seven years employment with the Woodlands Division of International Paper Company. He was a member of Happy Home Original Free Will Baptist Church and the Senior Adult Sunday School Class. He was also a member of the Pine Tree Club.
Surviving are: his wife, Luvenia Tilton Godwin of Andrews; a son Donnie Olin Godwin of Andrews; a daughter, Bonnie Lea Hensell of Wagner; a brother, Gerthie Godwin of Andrews; three sisters, Lydia Mae Ard, Tula Tilton, and Gladys Powell, all of Andrews; and three grandchildren, Hope Denise Gardner, Joni Elizabeth Godwin and Jeremy Olin Godwin.
Funeral services will be three-thirty o'clock Tuesday afternoon, October 7, 2003, in Happy Home Original Free Will Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Johnny Evans, The Rev. Eddie Knight, and Andrew Gleason. Burial will follow in Piney Forest Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from seven until nine Monday evening, October 6, 2003, at Happy Home Original Free Will Baptist Church.
