Andrews:
Oneta Singleton Ward, 81, widow of William Lewis Ward, died Saturday, June 28, 2008, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Ward was born in Horry Co. on June 8, 1927, a daughter of the late Pearly Clyde Singleton and Florrie Maybell Hardee Singleton. She grew up in Horry Co. and attended school there. Mrs. Ward lived in Georgetown for a time prior to moving to Trio over 40 years ago. She was a member of Trio United Methodist Church and the widow of William Lewis Ward.
Mrs. Ward was predeceased by: a granddaughter, Kim Hughes Altman.
Surviving are: three sons, Tommy Hughes and his wife Pat of Andrews, and Larry Hughes and his wife Cynthia and Eddie Hughes and his wife Ann, all of Trio; a daughter, Shirley Small of Georgetown; two sisters, Eloise Foxworth of Pawleys Island and Mary Grace Burkett of Georgetown; a brother, Billy Singleton of Pawleys Island; seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be one o'clock Monday, June 30, 2008, in Trio United Methodist Church in Trio. Officiating will be the Rev. John Smiley. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens in Georgetown.
