Andrews: Patricia "Pat" Ann Kennedy Alford, 68, wife of Nathan Alford, died Saturday, March 5, 2005, at home. Mrs. Alford was born April 7, 1936 in New Zion. She was the daughter of the late Wilbur Edward and Rubye Evans Kennedy. A graduate of East Clarendon High School in Turbeville and the University of South Carolina, she retired from teaching in Williamsburg and Georgetown Counties. Mrs. Alford wrote Scratching the Surface, a brief history and genealogy of the families of William J. Morris, Andrew Jackson Morris, and Julius Harvin Morris. Surviving, besides her husband, are: one son, Andrew Scott Alford (Vivian) and their two daughters, Sarah Wyse and Jenny Alford, all of Dallas, N. C.; one sister, Jean Claire Kennedy Burttram Gibbons (Bob) of New Zion; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Monday, March 7, 2005, at 2 p.m. at the Andrews Presbyterian Church with Rev. John Black officiating. Burial will follow in Andrews Memorial Cemetery.
