Obituary

Patricia Byrd, a longtime resident of Pawleys Island, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2024, at the age of 81. Born on July 10, 1943, she was a beloved member of the community known for her kindness and generosity. She was a proud graduate of Winyah High School.

Patricia had a passion for helping people and spreading the light and love of Christ. She could often be found helping out at her church and organizing fundraisers for the Salvation Army. Her love for her family was evident through her actions, she never missed a family event or holiday. Patricia will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

Patricia is predeceased by her daughter Melissa Byrd Moore, her mother Sadie Moore, and her father A.V. Moore. She is survived by a grandson, Ronald E Moore, Jr. and his wife, Stephanie Moore of Johns Island, South Carolina and a sister, Sylvia Friedner and her husband, Jerry Friedner of Columbia, South Carolina, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 18, 2024 in The Abbey at Pawleys Island, 46 Gathering Lane, Pawleys Island, SC 29585. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Prince George Winyah Church Cemetery in Georgetown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dementia Society of America .
