Pauline (Polly) Marsh Harper Graham Hughes, 98, of Georgetown and Sumter Counties went to be with the Lord May 20, 2024. Polly was born March 16, 1926 in Georgetown, SC, a daughter of the late Chester Drew and Ruby Henrietta Scurry Marsh. Life was an adventure for Polly and she made the very best of it every day. She loved the Lord, her children, family and friends with a full heart always. Although she had many, her greatest accomplishments were her children whom she loved dearly. She would bring laughter to a person's day and she enjoyed making others laugh with her witty personality and gift of story and joke telling. To know Polly was to love her.

Polly was educated in Georgetown County Schools and at U.S.C. of Columbia where she completed a four year degree in Religion and Philosophy in just two years and three months. She was a licensed minister for counseling. She was the first Charter Member of the Phi Sigma Tau of SC, a National Fraternity.

Polly retired from Real Estate Owner, Rentals, Home Building, Remodeling, Ranching, Substitute Schoolteacher, and Interior Decorator. In her later years she was an accomplished Author of several books, including "A Basket of Fragments" which she wrote for her children. Being outdoors was something she cherished and was an avid hunter and fisherman all through her life. Polly attended First Assembly of God Church for over 63 years.

She was predeceased by husbands H.L. Harper, Baxter A. Graham, and W.A. Hughes, two brothers Jackson D. Marsh and Renee Marsh, sister Mildred Ann (Midge) Marsh Wilson, grandson Richard Graham Bump, and three granddaughters: Treesa M. Bump Hendricks, Angela Adams, and Deborah (Annette) Weavil Stewart.

Surviving are sons Michael Harper (Carolyn), David Harper (Linda), Stephen Harper (Debra), a daughter Rebecca Harper Bump Mescher (Jack), four step sons; Tommy, Larry, Eddie, and Tony Hughes, two step daughters; Shirley Hughes Smalls and Ann Graham Hill, five grandsons; Tony Harper, Scott Harper (Rebecca), Justin Harper (Melissa), Jack Mescher, James Mescher, four granddaughters; Priscilla (Prissy) Harper, Krystal Baylor (Gordan), Shanna Kellehan (Kevin), Cheryl Carpenter, thirty great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
