Obituary

Andrews: Peggy Landress Clemons of Andrews, 83, was relocated by Christ on the morning of October 2, from her residence within Agape Hospice in Conway to the Heavenly home He had prepared for her in the House of His Father. As He said in the hearing of His faithful servant, John, "I am going to my Father's House to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me." He kept His promise. The Rev. Dr. Ben Gafford will conduct a service celebrating Peggy's life in the Sanctuary of Trinity United Methodist Church at 3:00 p.m. Sunday. Visitation with the family will be at the church for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Andrews Cemetery after the Church service. Sanford Russell "Dick" Landress, Sr. and his devoted wife Mary Margaret Rhoden Landress were blessed with Peggy Ann and her identical twin sister Betty Jean on December 14, 1930. They had the reputation of being the two prettiest girls in just about any room they entered. On June 16, 1948, Peggy married Robert Bissell "Bob" Clemons Jr. of Andrews and the two of them spent 59 years together in a marriage of love and respect that inspired many others to believe that marriage could be more than a legal contract; it could be a picture of true love. Bob passed gently into eternity on July 28, 2007, and now their children are confident they are together again. Bob and Peggy's loving relationship was fulfilled by the birth of their four children who became the center of their universe. Robert Bissell III who married Phyllis McDowell of Myrtle Beach, Jenny who married Eddie Dingle of Georgetown, John Russell "Rusty" who married Debra Frederick of Pennsylvania, and Ernest Timothy "Timmy" who married Teresa Hood of Moncks Corner. Bob and Peggy's family continued to be blessed with the births of eight grandchildren including Lori Proctor (Christian) of Sandy Springs, Georgia, Rob Clemons (Tricia) of Myrtle Beach, Kim Dingle (Pam Parrott) of Georgetown, Julie Dingle (Jordan Sullivan) of John's Island, John Clemons (Diana) of Red Lion, Pennsylvania, Sara Wise (Jason) of Dallastown, Pennsylvania, Timothy Clemons (Candi) of Wake Forest, NC, and Noel Clemons of Moncks Corner, SC. Bob and Peggy's family was blessed even more with eight great grandchildren including Jared, Leah, Samantha, Quincy, Madison, Bethany, Miles, and Cash. Peggy's parents, Dick and Margaret Landress, her sister Richiedean, her brother Bill and many other loved ones passed into Eternity before her and her remaining earthly family are sure they are all rejoicing at being together again. Peggy was fully engaged with her Church family serving in many roles over the years including member of the Administrative Board, Church Secretary, musician in the Sunday School Assembly program, and in every way she was able. She accompanied Bob's beautiful bass voice on many occasions when he sang to praise the Lord at various events and services. She worked as the Secretary at R. B. Clemons & Sons for many years, then as the Church Secretary at Trinity UMC, and finally as the Bookkeeper at Jack's Mini-Mall which was co-owned by her husband. She and Bob retired at 70 in July of 2001, after which they enjoyed finally spending all the time they wanted to with the people they loved the most. Sign a guest book at www.mayerfuneralhome.com.
