Andrews: Perry Eli Howard, Sr., 66, died Friday, July 14, 2006, at his residence. Mr. Howard was born in Georgetown on May 15, 1940, a son of the late Peter Eli Howard and Essie Cribb Howard. He lived in this area most of his life and was a carpenter. Mr. Howard served in the U. S. Navy on the USS Haynsworth. He was a member and deacon of Piney Forest Baptist Church. Surviving are: his wife, Alberta Ard Howard of Andrews; a son, Perry Eli Howard, Jr., of Andrews; two daughters, Elizabeth Howard and Regina H. Ray, both of Andrews; four sisters, Gaynelle Cumbie, Mary Alford, and Violet Strong, all of Andrews, and Emily Tanner of Rose Hill; three grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and a number of nephews and nieces. Mr. Howard was predeceased by four brothers, Lonnie Allen Howard, Charlie Kendrick Howard, Roy Quenton Howard, and Sonny Howard; and two sisters, Sudie Mae Morris and Ann Cottingham. Funeral services will be Sunday, July 16, 2006, at four o'clock in Piney Forest Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. James L. May, the Rev. Stephen Candal, and the Rev. John H. Alford.
