Obituary

Peter Louis Mark DiVenere son of Peter and Esther DiVenere was lifted up to the Lord Saturday October 14, 2017. Born January 29, 1943, he longed to be the masked cowboy making sure justice was served. He was a man among boys on the playground. He led the New Canaan Rams to a state title in 1960. He carried his team and the opposing team down the field 15 yards at a time until they scored. That earned him a scholarship to attend the University of South Carolina with the greatest mascot in college football. He fought to the death in everything he believed in. He stood up for his teammates his friends and most of all his family. He fought for his country the bald eagle was his icon. He swept his freckled faced redheaded playground sweetheart, Ane, off of her feet. She cheered him on for 51 years. The love and trust they built helped make this world a better place. A memorial service will be held at All Saints Church, Friday at 11 a.m., October 20, 2017. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery.
