McClellanville:
Priscilla McClellan Parker, 78, died Wednesday, May 19, 2010, at Hospice Center in Mt. Pleasant.
Mrs. Parker was born in McClellanville on November 25, 1931, a daughter of the late James Osgood McClellan, Sr. and Louise Augusta Whilden McClellan. She was trained to watch for enemy planes during World War II. Mrs. Parker was a former rural mail carrier and also Town Clerk for the Town of McClellanville for 15 years. She was a member of the Ladies Bridge Club and a champion scrabble player. Mrs. Parker was a life-long member of New Wappetaw Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Parker was predeceased by: her sons, Mickey and Jonathan; five brothers; and three sisters.
Surviving are: her daughter, Cecilia P. Capps (Avon) of McClellanville; three grandchildren, Andy Capps of St. Stephens, Laura Tarry (Matt) of Surfside Beach and Rebecca Porter (Emery) of Pawleys Island; seven great-grandchildren; and multitudes of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at eleven o'clock on Saturday morning, May 22, 2010, at New Wappetaw Presbyterian Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Walter G. Cook. Burial will follow at McClellan Family Cemetery.
