Georgetown: Rachel Harrelson Thomas Stearns, 90, departed this life on March 16, 1917. Mrs. Stearns was born in Georgetown on March 7, 1927, a daughter of the late William Cleveland Harrelson and Esther Porter Harrelson. She is survived by a twin brother, Reuben Harrelson (Betty) of Tennessee; three sons, James B. Thomas, Jr., William S. Thomas (Deborah), and Richard A.Thomas (Karen); two daughters, Rachel E. Thomas and Sue T. McCants (James); ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by: nine brothers and sisters; a son, Robert L. Thomas; and husbands, James Basil Thomas, Sr. and Irving S. Stearns. Services and burial will be private with arrangements by the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home.
