Obituary

Andrews: Ralph Woodrow Gamble, 87, died Sunday, December 28, 2008, at Tidelands Community Hospice House in Georgetown. Mr. Gamble was born in Williamsburg Co. on October 22, 1921, a son of the late Samuel Lawrence Gamble and Minnie Estelle Taylor Gamble. He served in the Army during World War II and also served for a time in the Coast Guard Reserve. Mr. Gamble was a retired long distance truck driver and a former employee of Senn Trucking and Murray Wood Products. He was a member of Piney Forest Baptist Church, a Mason and a Shriner. Mr. Gamble was the widower of Helen Rice Gamble. Surviving are: a sister, Claudia Mae Gamble of Georgetown; a niece; and two nephews. Funeral services will be eleven o'clock Friday morning, January 2, 2009, at the graveside in Piney Forest Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Murray W. Powell.
