Obituary

Andrews:
Randal "Randy"Bailey Brown, 16, died Saturday, February 21, 2004, as the result of an automobile accident in Williamsburg Co. near Andrews.
Randy was born in Georgetown on November 12, 1987, a son of David Bruce Brown and Melinda Mouzon Brown. He was a member of Piney Forest Baptist Church.
Randy was a tenth grade student at Andrews High School. He always had a love for sports, beginning in his early years with the Georgetown Recreational Department's baseball and basketball teams. He was a member of the Andrews High School football team and the golf team. Even though golf season would end, he would still be seen in the yard hitting golf balls with Abby, his Labrador retriever at his side. Randy also enjoyed duck hunting and fishing. He was always supportive of his team mates, no matter what the situation was.
In addition to being an outstanding athlete, Randy excelled academically. He was ranked third in his class. He was a member of the Academic Letter Club, National Honor Society, SAT team, and "Who's Who" for outstanding and distinguished students. Randy was also a member of the Future Farmers of America Club. He planned to attend Clemson University and the Duke University School of Medicine. He hoped to assist in research to find a cure for Diabetes, which had stricken him at the age of nine.
Randy was loved by all who knew him. Even though somewhat shy, he had a way of letting you know he truly cared. He had many close friends and a deep admiration of his peers. His sweet smile is a picture that all will keep in their hearts and minds forever. No matter how young or old, he always had time for anyone in need of his kindness and caring. He has left with us so many memories – some sad, others happy and so many that are so very precious.
Surviving in addition to his parents of Andrews are: a brother, Rick Brown of Andrews; a sister, Emily Brown of Andrews; paternal grandparents, Bruce and Ann Brown of Andrews; great-grandmothers, Lillie Brown and Elva Bailey, both of Andrews; aunts and uncles; Angie and Kent Rogers of Andrews, Wanda and Tommy Epps of New Zion, and Tammy and Mitch Floyd of Turbeville; cousins, Kelly, Ashley, and Catherine Rogers, all of Andrews, Samantha and Bobbie Epps both of New Zion, and Will and Craig Floyd of Turbeville.
Mr. Brown was predeceased by: maternal grandparents, Barbara and Pete Mouzon and great-grandfathers, Walter M. Brown and Arthur Bailey.
