Georgetown:
Ray Williams Johnson, 80, died Tuesday, February 20, 2007.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Bucksport on July 17, 1926, the daughter of the late Hoyt Monroe Williams and Mary Thom Rich Williams. She was a graduate of Winyah High School and former owner of the Embers and Carolinian Restaurants. Mrs. Johnson and her late husband, L. Shelley Johnson, ran the Moose Lodge for many years. She was a member of Georgetown Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are: a son, L. Shelley "Happy" Johnson, Jr. and his wife Eileen of Georgetown; two granddaughters, Kelley Ray Johnson of Simpsonville and Amy C. Mitchell and her husband Chris of Georgetown; a great grandson, Matthew Christopher Mitchell of Georgetown; a brother, Hoyt M. Williams, Jr. and his wife Betty of Georgetown; four nephews, Hoyt M. "Spike" Williams, III and his wife Kay and George Richard "Ricky" Williams and his wife Janet, all of Georgetown, Larry B. Johnson and Michael Johnson, both of Pensacola, Fla.; two great-nephews, Scott M. Williams and his wife Meg and Michael Williams; and two great-nieces, Angela Williams and Lindsey Williams.
Funeral services will be eleven o'clock, Friday morning, February 23, 2007, at Georgetown Presbyterian Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Stephen H. Wilkins. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
