Andrews:
John Leo Ray, 73, died Wednesday, November 3, 2004, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Ray was born in the Piney Forest Community of Williamsburg Co. near Andrews on August 28, 1931, a son of the late John Causey Ray and Sadie Bell Taylor Ray. He was a self employed painting contractor and a former logger. Mr. Ray was a member of Happy Home Original Free Will Baptist Church.
Surviving are: a son, William "Bubba" Ray and his wife Pamela of Andrews; two daughters, Teretha Ray Jayroe and her husband Edward of Andrews and Beverly R. Harris of Phenix City, Ala.; two brothers, David Legrand Ray of Andrews and James Calvin Ray of Bonneau; two sisters, Retha Mae R. Watford and Edith R. Cooper, both of Andrews; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild.
Mr. Ray was predeceased by his wife, Rachel Simpson Ray; and a brother, William Elbert Ray, Sr.
Funeral services will be two o'clock Friday afternoon, November 5, 2004, at Happy Home Original Free Will Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Ron Ogle, the Rev. T. W. Casselman, and the Rev. Bubba Langston. Burial will follow in Ivey Cemetery.
