Andrews:
Ray Leon Richards, 72, died Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Richards was born in Madison, Ind. on January 30, 1935, a son of the late Raymond Nicholas Richards and Nellie Poynter Richards. He grew up in Indiana and served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Richards lived in Tampa, Fla. for 49 years prior to moving to Andrews in May. He retired from Thatcher Glass in Tampa in 1985 and, after retirement, worked for a time as an armored truck driver with Loomis-Fargo and Co.
We have lost a loving husband of 50 years, a father, a grandfather, and a great-grandfather.
Surviving are: his wife, Ila Eldridge Richards of Andrews; five daughters, Micki Moore of Hemingway, Linda Young of Evans City, Pa., Debra Tisdale of Kingstree, Charlene Hoskins of Lakeland, Fla., and Sherl Tisdale of Andrews; two brothers, Ronald Richards of Tampa, Fla., and Donald Richards of Moores Hill, Ind.; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be eleven o'clock Monday morning, June 25, 2007, at Piney Forest Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Chris Zurcher. Burial will follow in Piney Forest Cemetery.
