Georgetown: Rebecca Ann Howard Altman, 59, died Thursday, September 8, 2011, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Altman was born in Georgetown on June 30, 1952, a daughter of the late Blease Howard and Louise Bryant Howard. She was reared by Avis and Daniel Love. Mrs. Altman grew up in Georgetown and graduated from Howard High School. She was employed at Prince George Healthcare Center and worked as a nurse for many years at other institutions. Mrs. Altman was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and was a loving mother and a devoted grandmother. Surviving are: a son, Spencer Altman (Becky) of Hemingway; a daughter, Caroline Cooper (Randell) of Georgetown; and four grandchildren, Spencer Altman, II, John Hamilton Altman, and Nathan and Altman Cooper. Funeral services will be at three o'clock on Sunday afternoon, September 11, 2011, at Rose Hill Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Sid L. Taylor.
