Andrews:
Retha Mae Ray Watford, 85, widow of Benjamin B. "BB" Watford, died Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at her residence.
Mrs. Watford was born in Andrews on May 24, 1928, a daughter of the late John Causey Ray and Sadie Bell Taylor Ray. She grew up in Andrews and retired in 1990 from Andrews Apparel. Mrs. Watford was a member and former Sunday school teacher at Black River Original Free Will Baptist Church.
Surviving are: three sons, Harold E. Watford (Dorothy) and Benjamin R. Watford (Terrie), both of Kingstree, and John C. Watford (Pam) of Andrews; three daughters, Jennie Lambert (Wayne), Rose W. Tedder (Ronnie), and Robin Watford, all of Andrews; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, David L. Ray (Linda) of Andrews and James C. Ray (Donna) of Bonneau; and a sister, Edith R. Cooper (Donald) of Andrews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Watford was predeceased by: two brothers, John L. Ray and William E. Ray.
Funeral services will be held at two o'clock on Friday afternoon, December 6, 2013, at Black River Original Free Will Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Daniel Cason and the Rev. Murray Powell. Burial will follow at Ivey Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday prior to the service at the church from one until two o'clock.
