Georgetown:
Reverend Thomas Howard Pentecost, Jr. went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 23, 2007, at Prince George Healthcare Center.
Rev. Pentecost was born in Hopewell, Va. on May 9, 1930, the son of the late Thomas Howard Pentecost and Mary Owens Pentecost. He was employed by Seaboard Finance Co. for a time and operated his own home sewing center in Pueblo, Col. Rev. Pentecost also was development officer for Mt. Vernon Bible College in Mt. Vernon, Oh. He graduated from Eastern Mennonite Seminary in Harrisonburg, Va. and Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D. C. Rev. Pentecost served pastorates in the International Church of Foursquare Gospel, the United Church of Christ, and the United Methodist Church. He also served as a missionary in Uganda in East Africa.
Surviving are: his wife, Deborah Alexander Pentecost of Georgetown: a son, Thomas (Luanne) Pentecost of Lake Stevens, Wash.; two daughters, Cathy (Rev. David) Norman of Ashburn, Va. and Cheryl (Jim) Miller of Queen Creek, Ariz.; a step son, Jeff Riffey of Edinburg, Va.; and three grandchildren.
