Georgetown: Richard Duane Cambrey, 80, died Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at his residence. Mr. Cambrey was born in Detroit, Mich. on February 23, 1930, a son of the late John Duane Cambrey and Frances Lane Cambrey. He moved from Ridgefield, Conn. to Georgetown in 1992, after retiring from PerkinElmor Corp., where he was a mechanical technician involved with the manufacturing of the Hubble telescope. Mr. Cambrey was a communicant of Prince George, Winyah, Episcopal Church, and was a lay Eucharist visitor, a docent, and a member of the Men's Bible Studies. He was also a member of Winyah Lodge # 40, Ancient Freemasons. Mr. Cambrey was active in community affairs. He volunteered for Midway Fire Dept., Georgetown Co. Sheriff's Dept., Georgetown Co. Fire Dept., Prince George, Winyah, Episcopal Church, and Georgetown Hospital. Surviving are: his wife of 53 years, Eleanor M. Cambrey of Georgetown; two sons, William D. Cambrey and Bruce R. Cambrey, both of Georgetown; a daughter, Carolyn Miller (Terry) of Georgetown; and four grandchildren, Michelle Baymiller, Katie Baymiller, Jeremy W. Cambrey and Eric R. Cambrey, all of Georgetown. Memorial services will be on Saturday morning, April 17, 2010, at eleven o'clock in Prince George, Winyah, Episcopal Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Paul C. Fuener and the Rev. Andrew Morgan.
